Things accomplished this weekend:

Replaced [livejournal.com profile] aichan95's clutch slave cylinder, despite temperatures being at/below freezing. Kinda necessary, as having a working clutch increases driveability. It was rather annoying to need to pump the clutch pedal to prime it before shifting, and to keep adding fluid to it on a daily basis.

Installed new lock on back door. Yay now that has a key too.

Four loads of laundry in one day. Yes, even I wash my dainty whites.

Some Christmas shopping! Still a ways to go.

Took a bunch of $10 and $20 Lego gift cards that I've stacked up over the years and cashed them in for more Lego, naturally. Then they give me another one.

Paid some bills, made sure others paid themselves.

Some subtle cleaning. The way I clean is very subtle, the effects are unnoticeable until right at the end when all of a sudden there's a huge difference and everything is gone and put away.

Hopefully I'll be able to finish my Christmas shopping by next weekend, unless work wants to buy another weekend from me. Then I'm kinda screwed and will have to blitz through it on the 23rd (which I usually do anyway). I liked the extra $,$$$ that came from 34 hours of overtime, but dang, I wish they picked a better time of the year to be throwing it at me.

Alright bedtime for me whether I like it or not.

Freeing up a little time

There is one way you could free up some time in your busy work and home life: consider, as I have considered, having "Bah! Humbug!" tattooed on your forehead and thereby preclude the necessity for shopping for gifts around this time of year. Of course, your being employed and all, you can probably afford to be generous and hand out gifts to your family members. However, even when I could almost afford it, I found the whole season so unattractive, bizarre, overblown, and too many other such adjectives to bore you with, that I long ago gave up entering into the mood of the month.

It can be a hassle and expense, yes. But since I can count everyone I shop for on two hands, and I usually keep to a certain price range, I figure it's not so bad. As big as our family can be, I decided it would be almost cumbersome to buy something for everyone, so it's easier to simply say to many others "my gift to you is you don't have to find one for me".

Plus, the whole SADS thing doesn't really affect me, sometimes I like going out to major shopping centers simply to see the sights and ride the wave.

A few years ago I remember seeing a woman sitting next to a shopping cart full of Christmas presents, with her eyes closed and hand on her forehead. I don't know if she was having a massive headache or getting stressed out or both. All I could think of saying was "You're doing it wrong", but opted to keep my mouth shut and move along.
