Yes, another stream of consciousness.
Dec. 31st, 2008 03:25 amDay #??: Yesterday's sanity break was getting a new muffler for
Local stuff: In the travelers' oasis right off the interstate, there is a newly-opened buffalo wing/sandwich takeout place, and a pizza shop is opening up soon as well. This is all next to a health club. Fail, or brilliance?
Didn't get far on cleaning the other day because after running a bunch of errands, there was sleeping. Lots of sleeping, which isn't entirely unwelcome. Either way I think I'm starting to see some progress here. I'm at the point where I dig far enough down and find something called the floor, and it's a repeatable process. I'm also at the point where I'm tripping over mostly bags/boxes of crap that's going out anyway or the empties that don't have anywhere to go yet. I'm still puzzled at how I saved up so much crap.
So I'm knuckling down on this insane task some more today. More piles of paper, from a wide range of dates. From several presidential administrations to a few days ago. Most of it's easy to go through. But when I find something regarding
The gains I've made in terms of empty plastic tubs have been small, which doesn't sound like much. But that's because as I accumulate and consolidate, I'm getting a lot of empty cardboard boxes as well. Not just the little ones like what shows up in the mailbox, no I mean also the larger ones, the ones that small children can turn into playground equipment.
There's also a bunch of tubs that could get freed up if I had some decent shelving system for all my DVDs. I'm half inclined to buy the raw lumber and put it all together myself. But that's gonna have to wait, since the DVDs are currently in one place and Out Of The Way.
A box for cords and cables and such. A plastic tub for computer stuff. Another tub for electronics parts. Another for video games. Car parts and supplies. Things for around the home. My boxes for scrap paper are beginning to overflow again, which means it'll be time to empty that soon.
The Party Shuffle option on iTunes has been running for days now. Imagine if you will: Download this big dog ass of a song (all 35MB of it) and imagine a version of it that runs for a solid week. And that's effectively what I've had in the background.
I think I'm gonna try to reach a good stopping place for the evening.
