psipsyRoom for Tekkoshocon: Check. Pre-reg: Check. Several bottles of alcohol that will likely get emptied in the course of the weekend by myself and others: Not check. That'll get taken care of the day I leave for Tekko.
Meh, I'm gonna need to replace the UPS for my computer. The battery is old, and it's been going nuts despite no signs of any kind of power glitch. And I tweaked the sensitivity to pick up less of that too. I'd like to find a UPS that uses a standard car battery. That would make things easier. I could rig something up to do that with my existing UPS, and all it would take would be a trip to yonder auto parts store and some wire splicing, but something in the back of my mind is throwing warning flags about that.
The main reason I'm on Weirdshift this week is done, so I can start going back to a normal orbit. In the end I get Friday evening off, which is good.
I bought some new socks. They come in a resealable bag. I cannot fathom this, never could. Why do socks need to be packaged in resealable bags? Is that to keep them from spoiling? Underwear does not come in a resealable bag, so apparently it does not have that problem. Either way I think I would be a bit concerned if I see the words "best taste before date stamped" on a bag of socks or whitey-tightys. Unless it was that kind of product from one of those kinds of stores.
Y'know what? I've never been to Florida. I should correct that. And if I drive down I'll have to stop at South of the Border, one of those legendary self-proclaimed tourist traps. Or maybe up to the New England area. But that's all up in the air.
