-This week marks a full 10 years at my present job. They went faster than the 6 years at the job I was laid off from, an event I was displeased with for all of .002 seconds before I remembered that I was indeed finally getting the hell out of there AND I was going to collect unemployment pay for it.

-After doing some dishes and getting some dinner, I prepared a prototype batch of brownies using a substance called Stroh 80, so called because it's actually 80% alcohol. The name makes it sound like an isotope. The stuff smells sweet and butterscotchy but tastes like BURNING. The high alcohol content is proving to be troublesome. It didn't feel like it was mixing right, and then in baking it foamed like crazy. It remains to be seen if this batch will indeed be edible in any capacity, but I doubt it. I'll probably stick with more proven recipes for the time being.

-[livejournal.com profile] aichan95 now has new tires, just in time for winter. This week also concludes a mileage test spanning over 8000 miles, split roughly into thirds for Regular, Mid-grade, and Premium.
Overall: 31.2 MPG. Factoring in age and mileage and my own lead foot driving habits, that's not a bad figure. For each blend of fuel, there's a slight disparity and not in the expected directions either. Premium came out to the same as the overall average, Mid-grade dropped to 30.9, yet Regular yielded a curiously higher 31.4. I calculated that fuel economy with Premium would have to be at least 34 MPG in order to justify the added cost, and I'm not getting that at all. I've not performed a similar comparison on [livejournal.com profile] nozomichan05 because she specifically requires 91 and higher. But enough of that.

-Looking at camera lenses for my T3i. The ones I'm looking to get soon cost between $500 and $750. Don't worry, I'm not gonna ask for one for Christmas. Maybe I can wish for one?

-No, I didn't make a wish on 11/11/11 at 11:11:11. I don't have to make wishes when I'm able to grant them. /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\

-Speaking of that, they're going to make some Madoka Magica movies. Old news to most fans, non-news to non-fans. First two are going to be a condensed version of the TV series, and the third is going to be a new storyline. Since the ending to the series was rather final, I'm not sure how they're gonna pull this off, but I'm not scared. It doesn't have the hallmarks of the director using the film as a way to masturbate onto the audience.

-Speaking of Evangelion, I still need to watch the new Rebuild movies. But I'm gonna wait until the last one is out in a non-camrip version, estimated to be sometime in 2013. Then I'll watch all of them at once, in one mind-blowing marathon.

-Speaking of mind-blowing marathons, I need to knuckle down and watch all of School Days.

-Speaking of--Oh nevermind, I'm done for now. I need some sleep.

It's funny because you know it's true.

If you ever come to Otakon again, we could do that. Or the School Days marathon.

I'd like to, but I think I'm going to Canada again next year. We'll see. Perhaps if the world does not explode I will go in 2013.

2013 wouldn't be bad, because that's about when the last Eva movie would be out anyway.

Weren't they supposed to be out already?

The first couple are out. The last one is supposed to hit theaters (actually as a pair of movies) sometime in 2012, with DVD/BD versions usually about a year later.

For some reason I thought all four were supposed to be out by now.
