Funny little light...

A little over a month ago, I found a speck of light somewhere, and held onto it. I had expected it to have gone dark soon after I found it just like all the others had done, but now it's a little brighter than when I found it. Oddly enough, I remember having one like it when I was a child, but it got lost.

Perhaps it's the same one?
