Anime news:

Found out Gunslinger Girl was licensed! By Funimation! Screwed up my prediction that ADV would get it, but I got the timeframe right. And what in hell is Funimation planning on doing with that series, anyway? Put it on TV here like what they want to do with everything else they got? I'd like to see how they're going to pull that off. Well, they're also aiming for rights to bring over the games as well. Looks like I won't have to crack open my PS2 to mod it after all. (In the event that I do want to play import games, there is a third party disc that will enable that, so I don't have to do any dirty work.)

But, ADV did get Cromartie High, and while I'm not surprised by this development, it did raise my eyebrows. This doesn't really bother me, seeing as how the people that have been fansubbing it haven't done a goddamn thing with the series for months now. Plus it's been on my licensing wish-list to begin with. Now, it's not really a surprise that ADV would get something like UFO Princess, or Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu!, but word that they got Mermaid Melody and Cromartie was different. But not surprising. Remember the Sister Princess Protocol. And E's Otherwise! I should have listed that in my prediction entry from a month ago, so I could get that one right too. But since I didn't, it doesn't count. No cookie for me.

Still no word on who has Green Green (blurb on that in a few) or Scrapped Princess. Signs are starting to point towards Popotan and Bakuretsu Tenshi getting licensed, as I thought. Anime Expo will likely reveal this. It's all going according to schedule. Pita Ten still needs to get licensed, dammit. Maybe at Otakon? And Bandai now has Dear Boys, for everyone that thought the cast of Slam Dunk! just wasn't bishounen enough.

Ah, Green Green. The first 12 episodes of the series was wild high school hijinks with heaping doses of fanservice. Green Green #13 took a step past fanservice, and entered genuine hentai territory, marked by an impressive display of forward-thinking on Midori's part. I say it's hentai (although not hard-core like most other H-anime) instead of fanservice because of the simple fact that there was some real action going on. Mental barriers had fallen, and finally let nature take it's course! Yuusuke was gettin' some! Yeah buddy! Ahem.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, found out I got a mouse. Didn't want to use poisons, as it would have just died somewhere inside but where I couldn't reach, and didn't want to use glue traps, as that's just an awful way for any warm-blooded creature to die. (On the other hand, if I was dealing with bugs, then I'd carpet the whole place in glue traps and use a ton of poisons.) So I decided to show some mercy and used a live trap to eject its furry butt back into the wild.

Bleh, forgot to get Ai-chan's oil changed today. My current condition, coupled with the constant rain, equated to me not going to NVAA today like I normally would have.

Oh well.
