(no subject)
Jul. 25th, 2004 02:46 amOtakon, coming up in a scant week! I guess I'll be prepared somehow. Got my room, got my pre-reg, that sort of thing. Oh, and I'll need to make sure I bring my Pita Ten artbook to be signed by Koge Donbo. Thanks to Otakon pre-posting the schedule for the weekend, I know what I'll be doing Saturday morning.
Which brings me to another subject, and that is that I need to actually finish watching Pita Ten. I've had the whole thing downloaded since last Christmas, I should have taken care of that. Konomini needs to be watched as well. Judging by the video portion on the schedule, bringing my laptop may be a necessity for viewing material. Sad, really.
Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple now have their own anime. Yes, that is correct. Japanese animation form. I told my mom (an Agatha Christie fan) about this, and it just about made her head spin. At least I had the decency to tell her this while she was sitting down. Oh, it's not the first time something like this has happened. Look at the Japanese take on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. If anyone's complaining about that, there's not many that are.
I have started a new LJ community. Got milk? If you don't know what Eiken is, don't worry about it. If you are one of what I call the Believers, then you owe it to yourself to join.
The internet taunts me cruelly. Eiko Shimamiya's "Ozone", a CD that has been bloody impossible to find even in Japan, has been posted on BitTorrent, and the tracker for that on Hongfire is DOWN. I am not pleased by this, even if the tracker will probably come back online within a day, if not hours from now.
York Anime Club today, which went well. New people showed up, they might return next month. Hopefully. Post-meeting dinner at Hooters, almost up to closing time. I would lose track of how much soda I drink in the course of the evening. Tomorrow is an AUSA staff meeting. Something might get done there. Hopefully. In between, I sit here, researching, downloading, generally goofing off. Kinko's at this hour is quiet. Then I go home and sleep. The process repeats itself monthly, weekly, daily, albeit for different reasons. How long can I continue? Until I receive a sign telling me to stop. I'll know it when I see it. How far shall I go? Until I receive a sign telling me to go back. I'll know it when I see it.
At work, I told my supervisor that I was somewhat interested in going to third shift eventually, just needing to work out a few details and ins and outs. Personally, I don't see much standing in the way, aside from mastering a couple pieces of equipment. That will probably take a few months, so the third shift thing will not likely happen during 2004.
Nature quietly signals. Oyasumi nasai.
