Quick blurb before I go home.
Madlax got licensed at AWA. Ok, it wasn't that great of a show, and I only saw one episode of it so far. But I was downloading it, and there was only one left before completion, and none of the fansubbers that was doing it are continuing because of the license. Oh well. I'll probably get the last one like I did with Maburaho. As opposed to things like Midori no Hibi and Scrapped Princess, which I gobbled up in time. Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you. BUT!! Pita Ten continues to escape licensing. Unfair. That show gets my DVDollar. And Interlude! At the rate that show gets subbed, it'll probably get licensed and released by the time any of the fansubbers get around to it.
Speaking of which, Nurse Witch Komugi-chan #4 has shown up in the magical world of bittorrent! What lessens the impact of that is the fact the dvd for that comes out on TUESDAY, and is likely in select outlets already. Plus the fansubbers doing that have been taking their sweet time, months between episodes, so if I really want to see #5, it's no more matter than zipping to Suncoast or something and stuffing it into the nearest player. There comes a point when I figure that I could either sit and download it for free, even if it takes several hours, or I could theoretically work a couple extra hours of overtime which would more than pay for the genuine article. From a time management perspective, option #2 is much more efficient. I think I shall exercise that option for Komugi, as I don't want to sit here till 3AM on a work-night for this.
The new RE: Cutey Honey is a riot. It reminds me so much of FLCL.
AUSA things are going as expected. As usual, the convention has hit a few snags, but as usual, AUSA will prevail. Sometimes known as The Con That Shouldn't Have Been, we have survived far worse things than a double-booked hotel.
Am now using FireFox! It's an easily trained browser, but I need to adjust some of the settings yet. However, it can display LJ's update page properly. Handy.
Ok. Done.
