Yes! I'm still alive. For the past week or so, I've been meaning to toss something onto this, if only for the sake of doing so. So, here I am, 30 years old now. It's not to say that the past couple weeks have been uneventful, more like I've been holding off on mentioning them for the sake of waiting until all is resolved, so as not to cause widespread concern.

news and stuff and junk and stuff )
Last Friday was cool. A service representative came into work to show us a few things on one of the machines, and then bought lunch for some of us. Crabcake platters! Tasty, tasty. Saturday, checked out the tail end of UMBC's anime marathon, but wasn't all that interested in what was showing. Also found out their wi-fi is no longer open to the general public. Oh well, that's fine with me since I have my own now. So then I drove around doing some window shopping. Sunday, AUSA staff meeting. Those meetings have a tendency to kill my entire day. Monday, after work, there was an all-hands meeting where someone really high up in the company tells hundreds of people from work about how well business is doing, and then proceeded to inundate everyone with a slide show presentation that used more acronyms than real words. The speech went on for about two hours. So there I am, sitting in the back of a dark room, while someone's talking about other business sectors that have absolutely nothing to do with mine, talking about projects that I've never heard of, and while a lot of it has really cool potential, my brain just shut off after eating the vast majority of the dinner table candies that the hotel had so kindly set out. Then, after all that, the moment everyone was waiting for, the free food. It was good, more crabcakes. I ended up downing two full plates of food and two slices of pie. They were also offering up free beer, and I seriously considered grabbing a few bottles to stuff in my coat pockets to enjoy when I got home. Why I didn't go through with that, I'll never know.

Weather's just plain ugly outside. Rainy, foggy, gray skies, and everyone trying to drive 4392 miles in the shortest possible time to wherever in order to enjoy a big turkey dinner with their folks. Glad I don't have to do any serious traveling this weekend. To anyone that is, good luck, you're going to need it. I was hoping to sneak out of work early, but apparently sneaking would have been entirely unnecessary. Around 1:30, my boss comes up to me and says "Bob, go home." So I did.

York Anime Club coming up this Saturday. Once again I hijack the attention span of about a dozen people for several hours and inflict all kinds of cool stuff that makes them come back for more. I think I shall introduce them to Kannazuki no Miko and/or School Rumble. As well as being great shows, they also have the hidden advantage of if they get licensed mid-run, they'll still roll out since the groups subbing them don't give a damn.

Ah, what to have for dinner... It's kinda hard to top the cuisine I've been having, but pizza sounds good.

A little bacteria never hurt anyone, did it?
