Yeah, I know, an all-too-infrequent update on this here LJ. But I keep it around.

Last night I think I had an entirely too vivid dream that my knee popped out of place (again), but it wasn't followed by the massive jolt of pain that runs the length of my leg typically after such an event. So when I woke up, and didn't feel anything amiss, I simply went along as usual. However, I noticed that one area near that knee is highly sore to the touch, so naturally I avoid touching it as much as possible. Perhaps it was more than a dream? If it's popping out of place when I'm not even moving or putting weight on my leg, that's not a good sign. Not only that, but yesterday I woke up feeling like I had a golfball stuffed in my throat. For a couple hours, talking for more than 15 seconds would trigger the gag reflex. Fortunately that has cleared up.

Not much new in the way of anime, a lot of fansub groups are either giving up, or too busy working on Tsubasa Chronicle or the latest FMP series. Nothing against those shows, but is it entirely necessary to have 10 groups working on them? But since I'm not at the forefront of any fansubbing group, I really have no right to complain. "Get on the field if you don't like the score" or something like that. Not only that, but there's only a few shows coming out that I'm somewhat interested in. I don't know. Eh. Most of my downloading lately has been for random things, such as the third pack of "You Can't Do That on Television", an old kids' variety show from Canada that saw airtime on Nickelodeon back in the mid 80s. That show was awesome. Cheesy, but awesome.

Last weekend was long and short and busy and slow. I started off dogsitting back in Waynesboro, then went out to York on Saturday for a lunch at a Japanese restaurant with some of my rowdier friends, then picked up some parts for an old bicycle that I've had since I was 14. The bike itself has some backstory to it, I bought it as a replacement for a 20" that I was outgrowing and wearing out, and found out the "new" bike had some serious problems with it, to the point that I went and bought another one new and rode that one instead, keeping the other one and selling off the 20" for whatever reason. Well, the black one that I bought new wore out, and I think my mom got rid of that one. I remember hitting a lightpost with it and bending the frame slightly, which rusted quickly. But not bad for $90. But the blue one? I managed to snag that at the last minute and decide if I wanted to put any work into it. Then I thought about it. Y'know, for what all I've fixed on my cars, at home, and at work, I figured a bicycle pales in comparison in regards to cost and complexity. It's like playing an RPG, and leveling up to something like 85, and then going back to fight monsters that might have given you trouble when you were still Level 1. You just kinda stomp them flat without even trying. Of course, a new bike wouldn't cost much more. But since I'm not relying on it like I do [livejournal.com profile] aichan95 or [livejournal.com profile] yamikochan, it's no big deal, and I already have most of the tools needed to work on it. I know, I know. "I say that now." History shows that I had better get to like the taste of those words, because I may very well end up eating them. But if all goes well, it'll give me something to zip around on trails with. My dad and I once took some trails behind my grandmother's house. But that was in a '75 Dodge Royal Monaco, so the scale is different. But still fun, it was like saying, "crowd THIS off the road, you dirt-bikers!" Anyway. Then Sunday was spent similarly, with a trip to the DC area to scope out a potential hotel for AUSA 2007. The trip home was a testament to impulsiveness, originally starting off as planning to go directly home and evolving into about four stops and a couple detours. (One of the detours was planned, as I saw a massive backup of traffic on the other side of I-83, and knew I wasn't going home that way.) So instead of getting home around 6 or so, it ended up to be about 10:30. Go figure.

Still working out the domain issue. The previous host put the cardboard-shrine.com domain on "locked", so it won't renew or transfer. Since it's under their name, I can't directly unlock it without nagging them. And since they've been completely unresponsive with replying to emails, it is becoming sticky. I'll get to the bottom of this somehow. Then again, I've been saying that for about two weeks now. But when it comes back up, it'll have even more pictures of my latest trip to Skyline Drive. The links to the various mp3s, I'm just gonna let those die off for now. It's probably for the best that way. And so much for the anti-hotlinking games. There's nothing like nuking an entire site to stop folks from leeching. Effective, but not desirable or what I had in mind.

Otakon is bearing down fast! I pre-reg'd, and anyone who wants to go should have by now, or at least should in the next couple days. There's more than a couple people I know of that aren't going, they have their reasons. I'm going, because I have my reasons. If it weren't for the whole "weekend pass only" thing, I would have probably just made a Saturday trip of it and been happy with that. Oh well. It's closer to home than work is, so that's another reason I go. And to think, the drive to Otakon used to be a three-hour long odyssey to State College. Nowadays that applies to Otakon itself.

Hungry. Food, then some anime backlog to take care of, assorted stuff, shower, then sleep. Sounds like a plan to me.
