Update stuffage.
Apr. 2nd, 2006 10:52 pmThe past couple weekends have been hectic, but a lot of fun. Tekkoshocon this past weekend, and York Anime Club the weekend before. Can't remember off the top of my head what I did the weekend before that. But yeah.
Tekkoshocon involved a cooler full of sushi, a case of Mt. Dew, calling up maintenence for getting someone else's toilet unplugged (unrelated to the sushi), getting a substantial amount of hentai DVDs and doujinshi (oh yes that's what I bought and anyone that knows anything about me can figure what they involved), avoiding 50 speed traps on the Turnpike, spooky hotel elevators, borderline-acceptable rooms (the floor above was deep in renovation and ours was next on the list but hey we were there for an anime convention and could have stayed in a tent for all I cared and at least it didn't smell funny), ribald conversation at a TGIF's, walking around the convention area with people I hardly knew calling out "albatross!", and a million other things. Of the 60 anime conventions I've been to, this has certainly been one of the more enjoyable.
"Dai Mahou Touge": On the surface, it's yet another magical-girl anime. The main character Punie looks and acts cute, but all similarities end there. She's actually a badass, cold-blooded hardcase who's better at martial arts than magic with a magical mascot to match, and a magical incantation that needs to be heard to be believed. This show is made from pure refined 100% awesome.
Yay, second season of School Rumble has started up. I shall watch the first episode when my brain has sufficiently descrambled itself.
The last episode of Magikano had me scratching my head. Up until now, I was able to follow along watching it untranslated. For that matter, watching the entire series untranslated is a bit of a personal accomplishment for me. But I guess I'll have to wait for the subbed version of the last episode to really figure it out after all.
The best time to go to the Lego Store is during the week. It's not crowded at all, and is also when they change out some of the pieces in the bulk sections. They also let me rummage through the boxes in the back for more pieces. I guess it didn't hurt that I have also been in that store a lot.
Something smells like perfume in here? Not so much an air-freshener, I have those and this is different?
One little project I managed to accomplish is de-automating Ai-chan's power antenna. It can be a bit of a problem because when the radio turns on, it sends the antenna up, even if it's just listening to a CD. But when changing a CD, the antenna goes down and then back up. Rather unnecessary, and since I've had to replace her power antenna before, I didn't really want to do that again. Installing an override switch required a lot less effort.
Ok, I think my brain has spooled down enough that I can go to sleep.
