Jun. 9th, 2006 07:34 amIf I go to Anime Mid Atlantic this year, I will be surprised. Especially since my recent convention resources were used for Anime North. Or I could go for just a day like I've done before. Or not at all, and just stay home.
So far I haven't yet had my PS2 modded to play import games, but this may singlehandedly justify that.
So yeahs, I watched some more anime. Surprised? If so, go stand in a corner while everyone laughs at you. Ok then!
Inukami!:
From the first five minutes, it looks like a role-reversed Inu Yasha, with more fanservice and harem and moe and eyerolling. And kinda like Urusei Yatsura, but not as original. Youko isn't as obviously canine as Inu Yasha, but she still has a tail. That wags. Nonstop. And if someone called her a bitch it wouldn't really be an insult. Come to think of it, Youko and Inu Yasha should hook up. But then what would their children be like? I really don't know how to feel about this anime. Perhaps I should watch more than half the first episode.
Strawberry Panic:
Imagine this, if you will, the Marimite series but with more yuri overtones than you can shake a pair of kissing schoolgirls at! I swear I've seen these characters before but in different series? Just like with Marimite, after watching a full episode, I had to check to make sure my manhood was still intact. Even the ending credit sequence was yuri-tastic. The only thing left that I have to say about this is... Dang.
Those are the two shows I managed to screen through this evening, plus I'm also hotly focusing on Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. I'm trying to follow Higurashi based on the raws, but that only gets me so far. The latest story arc isn't really creepy (yet) but it's still going to pack some sort of punch.
Ok, more news later.
