Long escalator is long.
Feb. 22nd, 2007 11:09 pmWent to Katsu on Saturday; and the legends are true! DC Metro really is the best way to get there, as the Metro stop near the hotel is very close. I figure, for what I spent time-wise in navigating DC and finding a parking spot last year, it was worth it to park in the outskirts and ride in. I was looking for only three things in the dealers room, and didn't find any one of them, including the manga for
vampyre_miyu. Oh well. But I did get to hang out with a bunch of friends at various times during the day, making it worthwhile. Getting home at a reasonable hour was also nice.
Sunday? Some more snow shoveling, this time to free
aichan95 from the snow and ice. Then grocery shopping, then sleep, then waking up to find my internet has turned to poop, then going back to sleep. Less internet = more sleep. That's all fine and dandy, but it doesn't do any good for torrents.
It's been awhile since I sat and watched a movie from start to finish, but I gotta say this: Action movies really only need two things: Stuff blowing up, and asses getting kicked. High-speed chases and fanservice certainly don't hurt though. Plus those two elements need to be in use from start to finish. I mean, really. For an action show, stuff like character development and plot are irrelevant. Even logic and consistency are optional. What are they fighting for? That doesn't matter. Why did everything suddenly blow up? Who cares! Where did they pull those weapons out from? Maybe you're better off not knowing. Same applies to TV shows and anime.
York Anime Club this Saturday! Finishing off Higurashi no Naku Koro ni so that I caninflictunleash another series on everyone.
Aaaaand next week I do the weird-shift thing, which is like a late 2nd shift. That's always fun. That, combined with anime club, wrecks this weekend for me but makes for a nice 3-day weekend when it's done.
