Doing a little bit of cleaning up around here, mostly in the form of putting away the massive piles of DVDs and whatnot, but I still have a long way to go. This will not be completed in the timeframe of a few days, oh no it won't. I have no idea on why this comes and goes, it just does. I guess it's based on "if I don't clean this up someone else will and possibly throw out some important stuff", something I learned really early on. It's a known fact that my lack of organization also entails a failure to make full use of volume. I continue to be perplexed by advanced concepts like PUTTING THINGS AWAY.
Ooh, I found
yamikochan's original window sticker. I will have to scan this in for posterity!
In the meantime I'm downloading "Akazukin ChaCha" because IT'S THERE AND I CAN. Ten years ago I watched this lovely show on VHS, with 12 episodes stuffed onto a tape at EP speed and nth generation of copying. The picture was blurry, and the sound was on the verge of going out. Now I'm getting DVD rips, in an encode that makes my laptop choke. (I never thought a 1GHz G4 would be insufficient for viewing video.) So yeah, sometime in the morning when my download finishes, I'll have the entire series which can then be tucked away on a set of DVD-Rs. Whole 74+3 episode series, just like that, taking up a measly 13.7GB of hard drive space. Honestly, for as long as downloadable anime has been out, it has yet to cease to amaze me.
So now I dive back into the sudden and unexplained cleaning frenzy. Next weekend I may go to the beach, weather permitting. Failing that, either a run to yonder computer show (unlikely) and/or more cleaning (more likely) and/or loafing around and watching anime (most likely). Sounds like a plan.
