Jun. 29th, 2008 11:14 pmThe first night on any road trip is always the weirdest. There's always that thought at the back of my mind saying "if I turn around now I can get back home this evening". But I know what happens next. After I'm settled in, and wake up the next day, I'm all ready to keep going. Eventually turning around becomes the hard part.
Currently I have only a vague clue of where I am on the map, so I guess I'm doing it right. Strongly thought about taking a more nomadic approach, sleeping at rest areas for a few hours, move on to the next state, sleep at another rest area, and repeat. Pretty much how I handled Anime Weekend Atlanta in 2005. But nah, rooms are cheap enough.
Oh yes, I know most of you don't read it, but
yamikochan will also have her own running commentary, as time and internet access permit.
