Sep. 4th, 2009 04:45 amSummer was... Non-descript at best. Maybe I planned it that way? Oh well. The summer weather itself was weaksauce, raining almost every weekend. And now it's COLD outside. But at the same time, it does bring back a memory of Otakon '95. After spending all day in the convention, my friend
studiodorobo and I step outside, instantly going from a climate-controlled hotel to the chilly autumn night. By the time we got to the car, our teeth were chattering. Ah, memories of youth.
Got my dryer working again. For what the new part cost, and for how much I'd probably spend on components to fix the old one, I'm probably not going to bother fixing the old part. Also, while dropping a load of recyclables off at the collection center, someone had left what I thought was a DVD player there, complete with remote and instructions. Then I discovered it was actually a DVD recorder, so this is taking an interesting turn. It remains to be seen if it'll do what it's advertised to do, but then it didn't explode when I plugged it in and turned it on, so that's a good sign. At worst, I can find some other use for it. Someone had also left one of those all-in-one stereo systems, but those are kinda junky when they're new. And a plastic kayak. I really wasn't sure about that one.
I'm noticing there's not as much activity on LJ as there used to be. I blame Facebook.
Back to watching anime, as the official start to my (non)-vacation.
