Jan. 23rd, 2010 06:19 amLately I've been thinking another Epic Road Trip but it'll be a couple years from now. Considering there was a span of 10 years between ERT '98 and ERT '08, having it in 2012 or 2013 is actually ambitious. Aggressive, even! nozomichan05 will be around then to assist me in this. Plus, as my workplace now allows me to carry over some vacation from one year to the next, I'll be able to take off for longer, and thus cover more ground. I learned that one week wasn't quite enough for how far I wanted to go, for how much I wanted to see, and that to cover the distance I did, there was some serious highway cruising. (Then again, as I was going through Kansas, there wasn't much choice but to keep cruising.) But as this is all a couple years off, this is just blindly tossing darts at the wall.
This year will also see me slowing down on anime conventions. There are a lot of people that would do or give almost anything to go to one or two, so cutting back may come as a shock to them. But I have my reasons. If I go down to 5 or 6 I'd be fine with that. There's a more verbose entry about that coming up anyway.
The latest Big Cleanup went fairly well. A substantial amount of paper/cardboard/glass/plastic/cans went off to recycling, and a lot of things were put in their proper place. There is visible progress overall. There is also a long way to go yet, and my default setting of "I'll just put this here until I bother to get around to it later" doesn't help; in fact that's the root of this mess because it sure wasn't here when I moved in.
