Oct. 25th, 2010 07:07 amAs fast as this year has been, the next two weeks are going to start slowing down. There are reasons for this. Some of you know why, some of you don't know. It's nothing bad, I'll leave it at that. That said, I should continue my efforts in some cleaning/organizing. Boxes and tubs that need to be shoved in the spare room, loose things that need to be put somewhere, a small arsenal of tools that would be better off in the shed, junk mail that needs to be zipped into recycling. I'm sorely tempted to rent storage again, if it would make this easier. Eh, I'll see how far I can get.
Went ahead and got the GTS 450 video card for my computer. The 8500GT that I've had for the past 3 years is starting to have trouble keeping up with some of the newer files that are coming out. Funny thing is, the 450 was on sale, making it only $20 more than what I paid for the 8500 when I gutted and rebuilt my system in 2007. Really thought about a GTX 460, but then that would have been into "overkill" range, as well as a much higher power draw, and the chance it might not physically fit inside the case.
So, I can now get back to watching my anime with less lag than before. It's a full season, and I have to watch some almost daily otherwise I get a 12-hour backlog, like what I faced this weekend. I'll probably let "Index" slide to the back, if only to let it build up then watch the whole thing at once.
nozomichan05 is now paid off, title in hand. Then she needed new front brake pads. Well, I could have gone another couple months, but I'd rather change them out now while the weather is fairly decent instead of letting the pads wear down so much they gouge the rotors and the whole mess needs to be replaced while everything is covered in ice.
