Jul. 19th, 2013 04:54 amAs expected, this year's road trip was much more scaled back than last year's. I went north into the New England area, taking
aichan95. Weather was acceptable when I started, and then only got worse, so I didn't see any point in continuing. The general area is a lot smaller than I expected. I was able to go from upper NH to Maine and back home in a day.
I think it's time to rent storage again. This is part of a larger plan, more than just "finding a place for stuff".
Got a new phone, went with the Galaxy S4 Active, because of the waterproof thing. After hundreds of thousands of different phone models that have come out over the years, someone (in this case, Samsung) finally picked up the clue that maybe people don't like having to replace their phone or store it in a bag of rice just because it got the slightest bit wet.
Got to see a Tesla car up close and personal. They're still out of my price range, the support infrastructure has a lot of growing to do, and the cars themselves are incredibly heavy (4600lbs x_x) but I see potential. And damn, I wish I knew about their stock 4 months ago and bought into it then...
The itch to build a new computer comes around now and then. My current PC is almost 6 years old, and I have no idea how long it's going to last. It could crap out tomorrow, or it could rock on for another 6 years. I don't know. I've seen newer computers completely fizzle, and I've seen older computers keep going.
