Jul. 19th, 2016 03:09 amOf the 11 days I had off, I didn't really go anywhere. My biggest jaunt was probably going to Skyline Drive, which I can do on a typical weekend. The Wanderbeast just wasn't feeling up to it this year. So what did I do?
-Got rid of a trunkload of dead/obsolete/broken electronic items.
-Put stuff (that I want to keep) in boxes. A lot of anime/manga/CDs have been boxed.
-Got new shoes. Not that I needed to wait for a vacation for that, it just happened that way.
-Turned off the alarm clock and got lots of sleep.
-Got one of those little action cameras. It's small enough to fit on a model train car.
I haven't packed up the Lego and put that into storage. At least not yet. If I do that, then something huge is about to happen.
Right now my living room and spare bedroom is a chaotic flurry of boxes and plastic tubs. Most of the things in storage are on furniture dollies so I can roll around entire stacks as needed. That way, when it is time for me to move, most of the packing should be already done, and the stacks can roll up onto the truck easily.
Hopefully I can move within the next few months, before winter. Then again I said that last year. And the year before. And so on. And it's beginning to look more likely that I'll be saying it again next year. I'm not worried. And if something happens where I won't have a choice but to move before I'm truly ready, I won't worry about that either. That's how it goes sometimes.
Entirely unrelated: Viewing Google Maps full-screen on a 4k display gives an amazing view, while consuming a substantial amount of memory in the process. I had to upgrade the computer in question to 16GB. At least DDR3 memory is cheap.
