Nozomi work: Pulled the old fan out, stuffed the new fan in. I compared the resistances of the fan motors, bench-tested them with a power supply, and got wildly different results. New fan: 14 ohms, moves lots of air. Old fan: 40 ohms, spins slowly, makes a weird sound, stops entirely if it's too warm. Yep, that settles it.

I have yet to put Miharu up on the QuickJack, on account of Nozomi hogging it for the past month. Wait that's my fault. I've switched back to Ai for the week. Mileage load balancing is a thing I do. That way one car doesn't get overwhelmed while another gets neglected. Although, Miharu is going to see more use overall for the next few years.

Even though I have multiple cars, I feel bad when any of them sit for a long time. Cars don't like to sit. They like to be driven. That's what they're meant to do. They need exercise.

One of my neighbors is selling an MGB roadster, a classic British car. It looks nice, it runs, it's street-legal, but I'm not buying it, not even with someone else's money. I've heard the legends about the work those cars constantly need, and I don't have any experience with MGBs. British roadsters are outside of my wheelhouse. Besides, in terms of raw performance and durability, Ai would run circles around the MGB and leave it in the dust.

I didn't really plan on doing a roadtrip this summer. Maybe I will now that I have Miharu. Maybe I'll just do a cluster of day trips and overnighters instead. This year started off with so much uncertainty that I didn't want to plan or commit to anything. Next year, I'll do two weeks at a time. That can really open up options for cross-country trips, and I've been itching to do that for years. In 2008 I learned it's possible to go cross-country and back in about a week but that requires a high rate of daily mileage and the stamina to go with it. My personal record for solo miles driven in one day stands at 1200 and I'm fine with never doing that much again.

Bsck in 1998, I was thinking about possibly maybe kinda going on a week-long road trip but my cars at the time were clearly not up to the task. The Subaru had a worn clutch and broken timing belt, and the Nissan was a rolling hive of gremlins. I wasn't sure if they could handle a few hundred miles at a time. Then at the end of May that year, I bought Ai and suddenly I could go anywhere, so I did.

There's going to be a Windows 11? What fresh hells and waking nightmares will that foist upon us after the feral pitbull of an OS known as Windows 10? It was all downhill after Windows 7. Oh well. I just hope that I can run 3D Custom Girl on it. If Windows 10 was a feral pitbull, then Linux is like a pack of coyotes?

Starting on another computer build for my mom. The one I built for her in 2008 served well and is now approaching its logical end. I have most of the parts ready, except for the CPU and motherboard. I'll get those when the time is right. At least this won't require a video card.
