Here is what I'm able to do with a macro lens:

"It's just a Lego minifig head" right? Consider that the original file is 5184x3456 in size, then you can see how things can escalate quickly. In fact, I resized that because dust was showing up. And because even on cable, a 100k file uploads a lot faster than a 5MB file.
Another fun thing I'm learning is that when the camera chooses the settings, it goes for the widest aperture which is great for fast shutter speeds but then depth-of-field gets real tricky. So I end up stopping down to at least f/8 to get anywhere, and deal with the 1" shutter times. There is a learning curve but it's actually fun.
