psipsyThings are moving forward with getting a house. If all goes well, closing will happen in a matter of weeks. There's always a slight chance that the deal will fall through and I'll to start over, or at the worst, wait another year. If so, I have backup plans. Plan A's greatest asset is Plan B.
I've been watching videos about doing repairs on Integras. There's a lot of support in that regard, helped by the fact they have a lot in common with Civics of the same vintage. I've already started ordering some parts, some small things like ignition coils. Things that I can stash in a bag in the trunk for the time being, in case I need them while out in the middle of nowhere. Or more ideally, replace them in a more controlled environment.
A thing to remember about people who have mechanical aptitude: When someone has it, or any such technical skill, they tend to want to use it. And oh have I been itching to use it. At the same time, as someone with that aptitude, I've had to remind myself that others don't have it. I have friends who are reasonably intelligent but barely know how to use a wrench. Same with computers. I can pop the side of a computer case off and do whatever I need to do and then some, but others will regard the inside of a computer like a portal into hell. Those who have such a viewpoint aren't necessarily wrong.
Currently I have 4 computers that each have Windows 7. I used to have a fifth but I sacrificed that to experiment with Windows 10 on. I regret this, although I do still have the key and installation media. And I have another copy of W7 waiting for its moment of glory.
But now my weekend is getting cut short because I have to fly out to Chicago for a week for company stuff. Honestly? I would have rather driven, but Nozomi's air conditioning comes and goes (I figured out why, I just need the time and place to fix it), and Ai's AC system needs a full replacement. Oh well, it's not like I'm paying for the flight.
