Jun. 12th, 2022 03:33 amRoad trip playlist highlights part 2!
More good cruising songs.
Yui Horie - "It's My Style"
unMOMENT - "Ai desho? Ai"
By the time these come up, about 3 hours into the playlist, whatever trip I'm on is well underway and I'm either in an area I rarely see or have not seen before.
(No need for YT links for these because they're easy to find):
Led Zeppelin - "Kashmir"
Rush - "Dreamline"
Soundgarden - "Burdon in my Hand"
Metallica - "Wherever I May Roam"
Another hour or two later, I'm still cruising but I'm not doing a hard burn like I was earlier.
AKI - "Ride"
FictionJunction - "Hikaru Sabaku"
KOTOKO - "Glass no Nabikaze"
Ah, the 90s, before cell phones, when if we needed to make a phone call out on the road, we had to use pay phones. I guess I should share how this song got on the playlist. I've known about this song since it came out, but for the longest time it was always an afterthought. Sometime in 2007 or so, while working an overnight shift, some coworkers and I take off to go to a Denny's, which was the only thing open at that hour. On the way back, we drive past the airport (BWI) and this song gets in my head and stays there, thanks to the one line, "a plane takes off from Baltimore and touches down on Bourbon Street".
Primitive Radio Gods - "Standing outside a broken phone booth with money in my hand"
