The world can be saved by steam....
Dec. 16th, 2003 02:18 amThere's not much for me to say lately, other than Christmas is coming up, which means I'm off of work for two weeks solid. Hee. Then, there's the matter of AnimeUSA, which I have magically become vice-chairman of. Funny how that worked out.
Been enjoying the Under17 and I've Sound: Short Circuit cds that I got a couple days ago. The Short Circuit one is largely much more lighthearted than most of the I've compilations, and mostly features Kotoko's singing. She's good at that, so it's cool. There's a couple "normal" songs on there, such as a mellow/smooth/jazzy version of Senecio. Cover art features two genericute anime girls in pressure suits while holding large weapons. No, that's not a complaint.
The Under17 cd is close to 50 minutes of wild, high-energy fun. Halko Momoi sounds like she's 5 years old instead of 25, but it's not annoying. That's just the way she sounds. Cover art portrays Momoi and Koike as action figures in packaging. There's even a warning on the package: "Choking hazard: Not for children Under17 years old" Certainly one of the more unique cd covers to come my way.
It's very difficult to compare the two cds; as the only thing they have in common is that they have the potential to trigger migraine headaches in certain people I know. All the more reason for me to have them. ^_^
A change of style, to say the least.
