So anyway, I survived going to, staying at, and coming home from Ohayocon. Inflicted the anime "Eiken" on a bunch of people. "Inflict" is a good term for it. There are many that will not see yogurt the same way again, that's for sure. It takes the element of fanservice to a brand new level! But more on that later.

Katsucon is coming up in two weeks, which is something that I'll have to prepare for, despite my best intentions. Then Tekkoshocon! It was fun the first year, and as long as I can go again without having to front all the costs by myself, (how else can I go to so many a year?) it can happen again this year. Anyway, Katsucon's website has quite a bit of nothing on it. It doesn't really say what's going to be shown, or which dealers are going to be there, or what. Just a pre-reg list and a ton of rules. Fortunately I can guess most of the dealers that are going to be there, as well as guess what's going to be on the video schedule.

Watched a little bit of Rumiko Takahashi's latest, Kidou Shinsengumi Moeyo Ken. Her style shows even more maturity in comparison to Inu Yasha, without losing some of the wackiness. As for the storyline, I have no idea where it came from, where it's going, or where it's even trying to go. So, I'm not even going to try to describe it. But, I figure that if they're going to make only 4 episodes of it, I can watch the whole thing and not get so lost that I can't find my way back.

Got an episode of Doraemon! But it doesn't play well on my computer, so I can't say much about it, aside that I'm disappointed that I can't watch it.

For Gokusen, it appears to have been made with a recipe. Start with Great Teacher Onizuka's concept, make the main character a woman, and give her yakuza connections. Why someone that ranks relatively high in the yakuza would like to become a teacher (aside from using that as a front to recruit new members) is beyond me. But, it has watchability, so I continue with it.

Da Capo: I've watched a grand total of two episodes of it so far, and still continued to download the rest of it. There's a trend going on in Japan where they'll take hentai manga and games, and make non-hentai anime out of them. It's not unlike how Xuxa went from being a porn star to host of a kid's show. Of course, who knows how many of those children that she entertained, she helped inspire to create in the first place? On that note, Disney needs to "branch out", if you know what I mean. Like making baby toys and supplies, to complement faulty birth control products. That would be the perfect business. Perpetual employment. But I digress. (See also: Kanon, Popotan, Variable Geo)

Pita Ten is another show that I really need to watch more of. It has a mild numbing effect on the mind, but in a harmless way and it's fun to watch. This show needs to be commercially released. The manga is already available here.

Someone here in Borders has a cellphone ring tone that matches the 5-note tone from "Close Encounter of the Third Kind."

Here's something to leave you with, a slow and pleasant song by Eiko Shimamiya. 8 MB in size, but worth it.

I don't know about your phone, but I used to have one (maybe I still do, I'm not sure) that I could program in a custom ring tone.
