This weekend helped me put a few pieces of mind-puzzle in place, and despite the rain on Sunday evening, my reserve of mellowness went back up substantially. Watched gobs of anime, some I haven't seen and some I have at not one but two anime clubs. "Tokyo Godfathers" is one of those films I heard good things about, but haven't really gotten around to watching until this weekend. I shall get that on DVD and eventually show it at York; for it is good. That and "Millenium Actress".

The other day I went into a Burger King and waited for someone to take my order. And waited. Since they never bothered to, I went elsewhere. I also made sure they saw me leave. Hahah!

I have finally begun the process of getting a passport, something I should have done a long time ago. Watch out, world!

Animazement looks a little less iffy, but Anime North is tempting me with KOTOKO, and Balticon is tempting me with being only 20 miles away from home. I feel so torn! Help meeeee.

Do any of you out there realize just how close I was to topping my ice cream with hot & spicy mustard this evening?

Do you think Icecream would melt if you put H&S Mustard on it? Also, how do you know it wouldnt taste good?

I don't think it would melt, as the mustard was in the fridge. And, I almost went through with it anyway. But now I'm out of ice cream, so I won't find out anytime soon.

Must be in the genes...

Well, I've been waiting for the travel bug to bite someone else among my extended family! Finally!

Just keep in mind, now that I'm a geezer/coot/low-budget senior and can't afford to rove the world any longer, I'm still a goldmine of travel trivia/information/advice/pedantry. Once you get that license to explore the planet known as a passport, please do me the honor of consulting me on places to go and things to see.

I realize that you might conceivably use all your travel shekels to pursue your interests in anime, but I'm hoping that other travel-related activities will gradually...or abruptly...grab your enthusiasm. If so, I stand ready to pontificate but promise to do so in a lighthearted/humorous/fetching way.

Oh, that's easy enough. It's only fair that I consult with you about international travel, since you've helped inspire me to get a passport.

While a trip to Japan is definitely in the pipeline and would single-handedly justify getting a passport for that, it's not the only place and not the only reason, and may possibly not be the first place I'd use it on. There's plenty of things to see and do within the US to keep anyone busy for a lifetime, but I figure it's high time I started seeing the world through eyes that don't have the CNN logo in the corner.
