Obligatory post-Otakon ramble

psipsyYeah, Otakon. I had fun. Some points:
It is refreshingly pleasant to be able to go to a convention in less time than it takes to go to work, as opposed to flying across the country.
Cosplay was weak this year. Too many musical acts in it, and I kept nodding off but the volume was too loud keeping me from staying asleep so I gave up and left. I'm glad I didn't have to stand in any kind of line to get in.
All of the anime that I saw this weekend was not in the video rooms. Irony! And Potemayo, omgwtf. It's like more Pugyuru.
The guests? Didn't really have any interest in them this time around. Yeah they're cool and all but just not my bag.
Since my friend who had reserved the room felt that chips, pretzels, Pop-Tarts and similar munchies were sufficient nourishment for the weekend, I had to venture out on my own for food. Harborplace may be a tourist trap, but it's close and has oodles of places to eat, so it's a convenient and useful tourist trap.
Got drunk Friday night but had the sense to stay in the room.
Didn't take as many pictures as I did at AX, but I still took quite a few.
Also didn't spend much in the dealers room, which surprised me because I figured I'd get all the stuff that I would have gotten at AX but didn't feel like dragging through the airports. But no, that did not happen. The stuff I did get was amazingly cheap, I think the most expensive single item in my haul was the second volume of Higurashi just because it was THERE.
As usual, met up with a bunch of people and didn't meet up with another bunch of people.
Y'know, I should have known that when we went into a seafood buffet on Sunday afternoon, it was going to cost more than a normal buffet. Especially when this particular seafood buffet offers imperial crab.
And lastly: What in hell am I gonna do with all these condoms? I mean seriously.

Well, if they're not past their expiration date or too close to it, make a rubber tree and gift it to someone who uses 'em!
