Not much to say for a year in review, because 2007 is done. 2007 was just that; 2007. Yeah I could go on about some of the conventions I've been to (including AX), and some of the shit that hit the fan on the general anime scene, but you know what? That doesn't matter. 2008 is what matters now, and many of you reading this are grateful just to make it to 2008.

I had 11 days off from work for Christmas/New Year's, what in hell happened to them?

Also, I have decided that 2008 will be a cheap year for me. CHEAP.

I'll second that.

Okay, I'm with you. Let's focus on 2008. If you get 11 days off at the end of 2008, why don't you come spend a few of them in Texas? It's not all it's cracked down to be.

Christmas/New Year's is typically not a heavy-duty travel time for me, despite the length of time available. In fact I've always thought all that time off would serve me better in the summer.

Now on the other hand, the open road beckons to me in summertime, and wanderlust saturates me. Plus there's the fact that I get more vacation time this year, and I'm not going to burn half of it on going to one convention. I was considering a jaunt into New England for the Big 2008 Road Trip, but Texas (and points west) is a valid option. Or both!
