Mar. 7th, 2008 06:09 amMost (but not all) of my objectives that I set for last weekend have been met. Perhaps it's best that not all of them were, otherwise I would have nothing to strive for in the future.
Setting iTunes to shuffle a playlist of almost 10k songs is like THE MOST AWESOME RADIO STATION IN THE WORLD and is fantastic for helping to get stuff done around here. Or in general. For example, I went through several boxes worth of papers and stuff and junk and stuff, sorting between what to keep and what to toss, and shredding what was sorely useless and obsolete but still sensitive because it was from back when they'd plaster my SSN and credit card number all over every damn piece of paper they could. About a dozen hours, 200 songs, and several cubic yards of debris later, I'm wishing I had bought a home with a fireplace. At least I know where to take all this for paper recycling.
Hm, I need to get a screen for my projector. And more General Tso sauce. And something to go over my windows in my bedroom which magically becomes the most well-lit room with so much as a hint of sunshine. Blinds and curtains aren't doing the job. And get some brake parts for
yamikochan in preparation for the summer, as well as changing her brake fluid.
But more importantly, I need to try to get to bed BEFORE dawn.

Mmmmm! Fireplace!
Date: 2008-03-07 07:34 pm (UTC)My bedroom also faces south and needs heavy drapes. It's odd, I guess, that I chose the smallest bedroom (of three) for my own, the only one that has only one window (i.e., isn't on a corner of the house). I found some heavy fake-velvety ones at Lowe's, made in India, and they're so thick that they do keep any light from penetrating. The one I bought, however, I used in my computer room, which also has a south-facing window, because in the afternoon, I wasn't able to see the monitor for the glare. I'm going to buy some heavy material and lining stuff and make light blocking drapes for my bedroom.
