Jul. 4th, 2008 01:22 amThe other day I was at Mt. Evans. It's like Pike's Peak, but it goes higher, is paved the whole way, and is generally less commercial. Not that it makes that much of a difference, as once you get above 10,000 feet altitude, you start to feel it. It's colder, harder to breathe, and there's less atmosphere between you and the sun. I started to feel a little bit of a sting on my forehead so on went the hat. Mind you, it's all quite worth it for the view, especially one that puts you at eye level with thunderstorm clouds.
After having been to Zion National Park today, I regret not having a full month available to bounce around the various parks and such.
We're all strangers in a strange land as soon as we step out the door of our homes, so might as well make the most of it.
