More modness: Turned the wrench a few times on this here journal. Not as extreme as what many people do, but since I haven't really changed much about my journal in the over 7 years I've had it, it's quite a difference. Diamond tread plate can add coolness to just about everything.

Hooray for MicroCenter and their $15 hard drive enclosures. They're the basic no-frills IDE/USB type, but for giving a home to feral hard drives, it does the job. But it also means I need to get back to work on modifying my main external box to supply power to these things. The wallwart supplies that come with most externals are usually only about 25% efficient. Meanwhile standard computer supplies have improved to the point where they're reaching about 80-85% efficiency. Oh yeah, the power supply in my main external box has been in use for 5 solid years, and I've seen them last for far less.

Drifted awake, now gonna drift back asleep.

Wow! That was a surprise, opening up your LJ to find all that grayness, but it's easy to look at, very no-nonsense.

Come to think of it, might actually be too gray. I expected that with the background image, but other parts being gray might put it over the top. By the time I'm done it'll all still be easy to look at, which is ultimately what I want to keep.
