Jul. 22nd, 2009 02:40 pmThe other evening I was looking at the website for Shirakawa-go, which was renamed to Hinamizawa for you-know-what. The site makes no mention of its animated appearance, and the anime makes no mention of the area's World Heritage status. That being said, one can expect there will be differences. One of which is the fact that in the anime, they didn't take kindly to outsiders, while in reality the lodging listings for Shirakawa-go is about as long as most major airports. (Granted, any one hotel near BWI could handle more than all of Shirakawa-go's inns combined, but that's beside the point.) Effectively, it's well on its way to becoming a tourist trap, if it hasn't already done so. Doesn't mean I wouldn't go though. 'Cuz I would.
Meanwhile, the Silent Hill crowd gets Centralia.
Uh, let's see... Watched an episode of "Princess Lover" which looks like standard fanservice/harem anime; count me in. And on
So it goes.
