So, what did I do with my 4-day weekend?

Took out a load of recyclables. Snagged some car parts. Pit beef sandwich from the volunteer fire department. Lawn mowed (after chasing a woodchuck out of the line of fire). Replaced the clutch master cylinder for aichan95. Got some anime. Haunted Balticon for a couple hours. Played with some Lego. Got called into work in the middle of the night (a good thing, I'll say why if you ask). Preparing some glorp. Had some ice cream from a local place. Slept a lot. Did some rewiring in the shed (incomplete but at least that got started). More shiny things. Probably some other stuff mixed in over the weekend.

The itches keep getting scratched.

Here's how it works:

I'm on something called the Quick React Team, meaning I can get called into work if there's a toxic gas release or chemical spill. Spills are highly rare, and we have equipment that automatically shuts off in the event of a gas release, making that short lived. We show up anyway, just to make sure everything is cool.

Now for the good part: Just for showing up and participating, we get a minimum of 4 hours of overtime. So, even though I was there for only 15-20 minutes? I get paid that minimum of 4 hours overtime. Also, I had gotten the call at 12AM, which for a night owl like me, is no big deal, I was already up and awake and ready to go. Certainly didn't have to worry about traffic at that hour either.
