So I got me a new toy...





Lego minifig included for size reference, and picture taken with my Android for a tinge of irony. The new camera (bigger one on the right) is a Canon T3i. It's good to have nice things once in awhile. Taking pictures got a bit more interesting. Buying lenses and such for it can get a bit pricey though.

Few other random things: Successfully replaced a part on aichan95 that involved removing the airbag, went gonzo at Otakon, got some wire rack thing that magically got a ton of junk off the floor, and starting off my power-weekend with a flurry of cleaning.

This evening: Dinner, anime, and some kind of effort to crowbar my sleep schedule back to something useful. Waking up in the late afternoon/early evening is not useful.

What will you be photographing with it?

Convention pictures, scenery, random goofing off, and mostly taking over for the older PowerShot. With the T3i's added capabilities, I'll be taking pictures of even more things. It also has the ability to record video in 1080p.

Currently I'm the learning curve portion, where I'm taking multiple pictures of random objects around the home with varying settings for each picture, just to see how they turn out. I've already got a second lens for it and plans for more.

Since I almost filled a 16GB memory card with it already, I guess I am enjoying it. It's definitely got some heft to it.
