Monthly tidbits, in no particular order:

1: Got myself a CO detector. I figured, why not? It has a numeric display that reads out in PPM (that's parts-per-million for the non-technical folks), and it's been reading "0" so far. At least it's not screaming out "ZOMG you're living in a giant tailpipe".

7: AUSA is next weekend! This is going to be the first year in a long time I'll be there as non-staff. The last year I went as an attendee was 2000, this time I'm going as Alumni. For that reason, I'm actually looking forward to it. I felt it was time to hang my staffing hat up, and I got a lot to say about that later on.

11: That's what these numbers go to, because 11 is louder than 10.

5: Went to the train show last weekend, before the weather went completely to hell. Those are fun, not the least of which for the massive layouts that are on display. I was also reminded that of the few people there who were younger than me, most of them were with their parents. I tried going both days, and technically did, but on Sunday afternoon everyone was packing up to leave by 2pm.

9: Been trying this "eating healthy" thing I hear tell about, ever since almost a month ago when I had a blood test done and it came back as Type Bacon. I'm actually seeing some effects; my weight is the lowest it's been in over a year. Although, after the train show on Saturday, I had me a bacon cheeseburger from Gino's. Once in awhile is alright.

99: Red balloons! Or was it dead baboons?

6: Hurricane came and went. My home took zero damage. All it did was keep me home on Monday.

12: In 7 weeks, I shall begin my annual Big Christmas Shutdown Cleanup, or at least pretend to make an attempt to try. Or more likely, what will happen is I'll watch anime/play games/sleep/random distraction.

8: I forget what 8 was for.

3: While said storm was coming through, I opted to leave most of my computers off, even though they do have a UPS that can carry them through some minor power hiccups. With the computers off, the noise from the fans and hard drives wasn't there to mask the sound of the wind and rain. It was somewhat eerie.

10: Spent half my weekend indoors, building model kits (that I got from the train show). Not like I could really go anywhere. One of the kits looks like someone started it, gave up partway through, and put it up for sale. It's cool, I can deal with it. What would be sad (and not unrealistic) is that I got it from an estate sale, meaning the original builder was unable to finish it. Yes, there are estate sales at the train shows.

4: Any attempt to arrest a senior OCP employee results in shutdown.

2: My phone is due for an upgrade soon. Someone suggested the Nexus 4 which is unlocked (meaning I can use it in other parts of the world) but that would cost $350, and it's not even out yet.

I think that's it for now?

4. OCP? And let me guess...you know this because it happened??

10. At least you got to finish it. I think the original owner would have preferred that instead of it being tossed.

3. That happens at work when the Barracuda's down. The silence is weird!

1. I have a CO detector as well, but it's just a Y/N type. The nice thing is that it plugs in, so no batteries to change.

10. From what I've seen for sale at train shows, NOTHING gets tossed.

4. Robocop reference.
