It seems that I'm the only one in my town who still uses LJ in any capacity. A hollow victory, if it can be called a victory at all.

I know it's selfish, but if you were to drop LJ ... because I don't subscribe to any other form of "social media," if that is even what LJ is, and don't intend to ... I would miss out entirely on all the gems you post from time to time.

Oh, I have NO plans on stopping this. It's almost become something of an internet retreat; I still come here because it's not as popular as it used to be.

It's a lot like going to a restaurant that used to be really busy, but business dropped off enough that now it's possible to walk in and get a table. On top of that, most of the more annoying clientele had long left, leaving us regulars in peace.

Aha, the only one in your town who will ADMIT to living in your town.

I stopped putting my location in there long ago, preferring the quiet anonymity of being vague. ;)

That's partially it. More like, normally I'd have it hidden, but then I got curious as to how many other LJ users lived around here, so I switched it on.

Apparently the most recent post from anyone else around here was from 3 years ago, unless they set everything to private.
