This and that.
May. 19th, 2017 04:44 amAlright, time to un-pause the whole cleaning up and packing up thing, and accelerate it. There's some house-hunting in my near future, and one of the last things I want to deal with is a house full of various crap floating around right before I'm supposed to move. So it's in my best interests to sort through it and pack up whatever isn't trash.
Things:
-Really small boxes are great for small loose items. No, really. I'd walk around with a small box, small enough that I can easily carry it with one hand, and fling various small things into it. When it gets full, I tape it up and continue with another small box. Then when I have a bunch of little boxes, I'll put them all into a bigger box. This way I don't have a bunch of loose items rolling around in a big box.
-A small colony of old shoes has somehow migrated to the kitchen. How polite of them to gather near my front door, where it'll be easier for me to get rid of them.
-A significant amount of room is now being taken up by empty boxes. I'm starting to run out of things to put in them.
-The Lego is still accessible and has not gotten packed up yet. When that does happen, shit's about to get real.
-Apparently I have a floor. And tables. And other flat surfaces.
-I have a lot of stuff. I ain't gonna deny it. I could get rid of some of it? Maybe. Not likely. It would be boring, so only if I had to.
-Going through 14+ years of accumulation is like going through my own personal time capsule.
-There's a significant amount of stuff that will need moved directly by me in a car. Things like computers, photography items, sensitive documents, chemicals, extremely large Lego builds, that sort of thing.
-I wasn't kidding about some of the Lego builds being extremely large.

And so, I continue my haphazard process of cleaning and organizing. As unstable and erratic as it's been, I think I'm making progress.
