As a change of pace, I put the Rabbit House papercraft kit together. I'm seeing some significant differences from plastic kits, such as the parts are easier to cut out from their surrounding sheets, I don't have to file down flashing on parts, and more notably, I can use glue that won't fry my brain if I don't have adequate ventilation.

The parts and their details are pre-cut via laser, so all I needed to do was to cut the small tabs holding the parts to their respective sheet of 0.5mm cardstock, then glue them together. It's almost completely done now, and with the walls glued together and the roof on, it feels almost as solid as a plastic-based kit. I can handle it with some care and move it around and not worry about it crumpling in my hand. Naturally, I don't expect it to survive something falling on it or if it gets wet.

The instructions are primarily in Japanese. The pictures that go with it are highly detailed, and it's easy to figure out which part gets called for and when and where it gets put on. For some more specific instructions that aren't in English, I just whip out the phone and use that to translate it for me. It's often not a great translation, it does just well enough that I can get the gist of what's being said.

I've made a few mistakes on it, all of which are minor. It's still good enough to put out on the layout. Again, I've never done a papercraft kit before. I found it challenging without being frustrating. All told, I'd definitely get another one of these.
