I did not think I would be watching a lot of anime this season but that seems to be what happened. Here are some highlights of what's made the cut so far:

-Konosuba Explosion: This is the spinoff about Megumin. I can't call myself a fan of Konosuba if I don't watch this.

-Oshi no Ko: On the surface, it's about idols. It's really a murder mystery with reincarnation going on.

-IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls U149: As far as the IMAS fandom goes, I can't really say I've been a fan. I wasn't expecting to watch this but I did anyway. This is definitely light-hearted watching material with a low-stakes plot, right alongside the likes of the Love Live franchise.

Idols and vtubers are like alcoholic drinks. People have their favorites and preferences, it's fine to enjoy them in moderation, and it's too easy for someone to lose control and wreck their lives over it.

-Yuusha Ga Shinda: The legendary hero dies in a stupid trap and the local loser who set the trap has to take his place as the hero. I'd say this is my Vitamin Dumb anime of the season. Is it dumb? Yes. Am I enjoying it? That's the more important yes.

-Kawaisugi Crisis: Aliens come to Earth to take it over but get thwarted by the sheer cuteness of cats and dogs and other pets.

-Megami no Cafe Terrace: After a few episodes in, I've decided that this is really just "Love Hina" with fresh paint. I'll keep going with this for the time being anyway.

-Gundam: Witch from Mercury: Okay, I get it now. I get the appeal of the Gundam anime franchise. From a distance, general opinions are "ooh, Gundams, big robots". Then those people either wander off to something else, or get into the anime to see what the fuss is about. The various incarnations of the Gundam anime tend to be violent. There is war in Gundam. People die in Gundam. Shit gets fucked up in Gundam. The advanced technology that makes giant robots and space habitation possible in Gundam is only a thin veneer covering the endless backstabbing and brutality. G:Witch is no exception. An early description was this was Utena with Gundams, but with how the story has been going, I'm not sure if that analogy holds anymore.

The thing about analogies is they all eventually fall apart when the comparisons no longer line up. What makes an analogy good is if it can get the point across before it falls apart.
