Last weekend I flew out to Seattle to attend a friend's wedding. Since this friend is part of a larger circle of friends, there were more than enough there who I did know, and that made it a lot of fun. And a reunion of sorts. Some of them I hadn't seen in-person in years. Decades. Time slips by faster than we think it does, and life sends us in strange directions.
While in Seattle, and prior to the wedding, I went to RE-PC and found a few used electronic gadgets, and an old SCSI hard drive for the Amiga. Miraculous! Supposedly they tested and wiped it before selling it. I'll find out for sure before long. Also considering the Amiga was made before the concept of plug-and-play, I'll probably have to work some weird magic on that to get it to accept the new drive. I also went to VetCo Electronics, which reminded me a lot of Baynesville Electronics when that was still open. They had a Sony DVD player that can hold 400 DVDs at once. I was really tempted by that. If I had driven there instead of flying, I would have bought it. This must be how Frieren feels when she's looking for grimoires and magical artifacts.
All told, I could have easily spent some more time in Seattle and the general area. But now I have an idea of how long it takes to get there by either flying or driving, so a return trip is not out of the question.
