Otakon approaches! Bearing down hard on the calendar with all the rampant force of a shopping cart on crystal meth! Such as is my pre-con preparing practices, it will be completely ambiguous until the very moment I leave home, and even after that it'll be fuzzy.

Work-wise, I thought this week would be rather slow, but things have come up and I end up not getting home until well past 10 at night. Overtime pay, though.

Anyway, I was in a video game store, to get a cable for my PS2. Four bucks. So I go to the counter to purchase it, and the girl behind the counter asks me if I'd like the one year warranty for an extra $3.
Me: "For a $4 item?"
Her: "Yes."
The fact that she replied with a completely straight face is one of those things that I find more than mildly disturbing.

but is was her job.

She has been brainwashed to say that. Just like i have been brainwashed to ask you to get the warranty on your trinitron that you bought. You still like the TV? If you arre ready for bigger let me know i can take care of that as long a you come in earlier than 5 mins. to close next time. Enjoy Otakon, Wish i could be there this year. Tabatha and i will be moving out withen the next two weeks. Really far away, right into the trailer next door.

This is true. Extended warranties are a guessing game for me, and it depends largely on how much they are in comparison to the initial product price, complexity, usage, and history. Passed one up on my washer and dryer. There's not much to them internally, and all it does is sit there and wash and dry clothes.

The TV's nice, gonna wait awhile before I move onto the next step, mainly until I get more stuff here.

Anything at Otakon you want?

Otakon stuff.

Steal an extra bag with a program guide, a badge or two, and you really need to look for some more belldandy stuff as usuall. I will need to pick up the OVAs on DVD sometime but don't wory about that. Tabatha loved the movie but still hasn't seen the Oh My Godess OVAs yet. Have Fun I'll be looking forward to see your write-up on the con Don't be to critical on the size of the masive machine that is Otakon but go to enjoy yourself and maybe have a few drinks. Tell me all about it.

ridiculous warranties

Ok, I think that you & I are the only people that found this uproariously hilarious. I lmao, and everyone else is like, "and?"

Yeah, she has to say it, but she should at least realize the silliness in the concept for a power cable. Does she ask people who buy a pack of batteries if they want the "extended warranty" with that??
