Thunderstorms never scared me. Maybe when I three or so, but in my time of active memory, they became something to watch. The brighter the flash of lightning, the louder the thunder, the better. A power outage would top it off beautifully. The sound of the rain itself was something I found relaxing, the steady sound could lull me right off into dreamland. Any steady noise could, for that matter, like a window fan. Had no trouble falling asleep on car trips, which kinda works against me now that I'm the one doing the driving.

Made a sandwich the other day, with swiss cheese, cajun-style turkey, buffalo style chicken, and topped with hot pepper rings, spicy brown mustard, A-1/tobasco sauce, and a bottled substance I found that's literally called "too fargin' hot". I have named the creation "El Toxico". Best enjoyed with Southern Comfort. Interesting combination, to say the least.

Ah, a simple childhood pleasure...remember when we used to sit outside on the front porch when it would rain? And the cars would drive down the street through the standing water and we would rate how cool the rooster-tails were as they splashed through?
