As you may have guessed, I'm not at Neko-con this year. I feel no shame or guilt in not going.

There were many reasons, one of which was my own laziness, as I didn't feel like gearing up for it. NVAA was much cheaper and closer, plus there were a ton of other things I needed to take care of. On top of that, there's AnimeUSA coming up in two weeks that I'm helping to staff; that requires some effort. So, after AUSA, that'll still be 8 conventions this year. Plenty enough for me.

On top of that, I found out later on that they capped attendance at 1600, which meant that as of 1PM that Friday, they weren't letting any more people in. If I had decided to go, I would have driven several hundred miles for nothing. My laziness has turned out to be a blessing.
