Wahahaha.

The Under17 concert DVD was fun, and it finally gave me the lyrics to "Kotae" that I was looking for. Even without knowing the lyrics, it's a very touching song, and knowing what it's actually about adds to that even more. And watching the DVD, with Halko singing that song, about to burst into tears herself after a display of b-day affection from the audience, was another punch. CD version, 9MB

Right after that, I watched the rest of Popotan, and I dare say the ending for that was... poignant. They could choose to go back to wherever they wanted, staying with the friends of their choice, and they tried that even though it meant being apart from each other. But then they decided they would rather continue travelling, because they would be together that way, and happier, even if it meant saying goodbye to all the friends they've made. It's the kind of reward that one gets for sitting through the non-stop boobage in the series (which I think is it's own reward). So yeah, it actually had a story! With a point! Really, I'm not kidding! You don't believe me, don't you? If you don't, then poo on you. After watching it, I thought about all the friends that I've made through the years, and how many of them I've said goodbye to, or they've said goodbye to me, with the strong possibility of never seeing each other again. Popotan is one of those rare anime that actually makes me think of philosophical stuff when all is said and done.

For several years now, I have been composing a playlist that I call "The Soundtrack of Bob." Full of songs that mean something to me in some way or another, however big or small. It is now large enough to span around 6 cds. (Yes, Kotae is in there.)

I bought the Nurse Witch Komugi DVD at Otakon. I started playing it on the English setting, but didn't get far, because I got scared. Or it's probably more because I've watched the fansub of it 15 times already and have gotten that accustomed to the Japanese version.

Episode 5 of Bobobo was more insane than usual for that show, which says a LOT about the overall level of strangeness. Episodes for that come out once every month or two, mostly because the show probably makes translators go insane with all the language puns. That means it won't be completed until the year 2007. By then it'll be licensed, and it'll be another 3 or 4 years before it sees completion in the US. On the other hand, if I have that much of a desire to see the whole thing, I could just up and buy the R2's and watch it untranslated.

Busch Gardens vs. King's Dominion! I'm going to one of those this year. It'll be cool. It's been how long since I've been to an amusement park? I could go to Six Flags and be done with it, but it's been even longer since I've been to the other two.

Tsubasa #5, tentatively called "Bonus Mission GO!" is a bit delayed. Just a bit. It seems like I'm going to do these forever, but I'm not. It's not a matter of running out of material, I just don't want to overdo them. I do have an end-game scenario worked out for them. But for the time being, all I can say is that Tsubasa #5 has a decidedly different flavor to it.

This weekend's done, NVAA/AUSA meetings next weekend. Busy, busy.

You know, it's been a while since I've been to either Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion, too. But given the choice I'd probably go with Busch Gardens. *nods*

My workplace offers employee discounts for Busch Gardens, for slightly less than AAA. On the other hand, for the 2-day ticket, AAA is the cheaper one.
