two fried chickens and an ice cream cone
Dec. 24th, 2004 02:51 amHeyo, merry Christmas to everyone out there in Internetland and beyond. Hopefully I'll have some goodies to throw to everyone from this here journal. I have about 1.1GB of trance music mp3s that I downloaded a few weeks ago, but that's a bit much to upload, even for the Cardboard Shrine. Those that are interested and geographically accessible can get it on a couple CDs.
New LJ icon! It's Tenma and her prehensile hair, from School Rumble. Reminds me of Mahoro. I'm probably not going to use this one much, even though it is cute. If anyone else wants to use it for their own, go right ahead. If I make another one it'll probably be of Harima, because he's cool.
Now, I'm just about completely done with my Christmas shopping, "just about" mind you, which is a rarity in itself. Of course, I usually wait until the last couple days, and finish it off by storming malls and department stores, witnessing first-hand the chaos of the last few full shopping days, when everyone's nerves are frazzled and generally shot to hell. Panic and desperation run rampant, and rash decisions are made. I live for this.
Anyway!
For those that feel that a typical Mercedes Benz is still too ghetto for their tastes. Yes, they're ultimately made by the same company. It's surprising what all that DaimlerChrysler owns. Apparently these things get about 17MPG on the highway, which isn't all that bad when considering it has a twin-turbo V12 pushing 6200 pounds. (For comparison,
yamikochan weighs a little under 2800, and gets a bit over 30MPG.) Then again, anyone that has over $350,000 to spend on a car doesn't give a damn about gas mileage, they're more concerned about it being a living room on wheels. If I had a ton of money I'd be getting one.
Found some newfangled audio format, called Wavpack, with the extension of .wv and it's not really .wav but something different. May as well be .wtf for all I care. The only way I can get a player is by taking the source code and compiling it myself. Y'know, I got a Mac so I wouldn't have to do that sort of thing. I'm not afraid of that stuff, but it would be nice if I had a clue on where to begin. It's one thing to write a program, it's another to expect everyone else (end-user included) to have the same abilities. Eh, call me lazy. That and my technical skills are hardware-centric. Wah. But .ape and .mpc were conquered, and I'm sure this will be no different.
Ok, I'm going to go to bed while this thing downloads the latest Bobobo episodes. Meanwhile, enjoy the current music.
