Not much to talk about, other than an odd start this morning.

The alarm clock buzzer kicked on at its usual time, and like usual, I hit the snooze button. No effect. Reset it, and still nothing. Unplugged it from the wall and took out the battery. Still the noise continued! "This is certainly odd," I thought to myself. It's happened before, I managed to solve it each time, and I was rather confident that I would solve it again. I began to consider past suspects. Sometimes the giant covered plastic tub near my bed would fill itself with miasma, and if the miasma got too warm and there was enough of it, that would certainly keep the alarm clock going. Sure enough, it was quite full, and ready to be taken outside and emptied. I knew from past experience to never open it while indoors; otherwise a wild alarm clock would be the least of my worries. Fortunately I had a thermometer already attached to it, but I didn't have to look at the readings, the tub was very cool to the touch. Hm, so much for that, although I really mustn't hesitate to empty the miasma, if it filled up that much overnight.

It was at this point that I began to suspect the noise wasn't coming from the alarm clock at all. There were more than a few times when it was merely the snoring of the dogsnake, who was sleeping quite soundly in the next room. It wouldn't ever wake up just from someone yelling at it, that was accomplished by honking a horn at it, which I promptly did. It opened its eyes, and raised its head, and looked at me. Ok, so it's not coming from the dogsnake either. The poor creature, so rudely awoken, now had great difficulty trying to get back to sleep, thanks to this noise emanating from everywhere and everything. Its head remained in the upright position, front paws aimlessly dangling in the air, as it slithered its furry self off to another room, presumably in search of a quieter place to sleep. Something's amiss about that beast; I wonder if it's been eating right? If you've never seen a dogsnake, imagine something with the head, upper body, and front paws of a golden retriever, and the back end of a snake, except covered in fur. Anyway, I digress.

Still trying to find the source of the noise, I thought I would simply ignore it, but that didn't work out well at all. It was like it was coming from my own mind. So in an effort to close in properly on the source of this seemingly endless din, I closed my eyes, and when I woke up, I found that I had not done anything to the alarm clock at all, and with great satisfaction, I hit the snooze button, the noise immediately ceased, and for a few minutes, I was able to bask in my own clever detective work, then getting up properly, making sure the miasma tub wasn't too full, and giving the dogsnake a good petting before heading off to work for the day.

That's pretty much it for now, no big deal.

The short definition would be "a foul and noxious air".
