Oct. 1st, 2008 02:59 amStayed at work so long on Friday that sunrise came and went. Ah, haven't done that in a long time. Although I didn't top my coworker, who had finally left at 5AM Saturday morning after a 22 hour shift. Sure it sounds brutal, but can't argue with the overtime pay.
Then I get home, fall asleep, get a wake-up call to drag my ass to Anime Club, so I do that and get everything up and running and maybe 5 minutes into it the projector lamp BLOWS OUT. Hear a small boom, then the indicator lights go all red. Yeah. And instead of dragging my PC there, I really should look into getting a newer laptop to run video off of. Regretably, my trusty G4 PowerBook may be fine with XVID-based .avi files, but for most of the newer and more exotic .mkv files, it chokes and gags.
So now not only am I on the hunt for another 2nd car (however half-assed that search may be), but now a projector lamp too. And possibly another laptop, which I damn near bought after the AUSA staff meeting. Then the Impulse-Delay subroutine kicked in and I walked out without a new laptop. Impulse-Delay is handy, it keeps me from getting or doing something without thinking. It's a clever way of making ADHD cancel itself out, and is usually effective. Not 100%, but it's usable.
Also, looking at the calendar post-AUSA, I'm becoming more decidedly intent on going to Zenkaikon (not to be confused with TrainwreckCon). Two conventions two weekends in a row? Madness! But nothing new for me. What's strange for that one is how it's about the same distance to home than AUSA is, possibly closer. What's also strange is that they haven't set up a hotel room block, which means guilt-free commuting. Either way it's going to be my post-AUSA-crash-con.
Trying to think of what else I had going on, what I was going to use my next weekend on. AUSA staff meeting, but something else.
Oh well.
