The other day I was in Borders, looking over their selection of manga, and I see a lot of titles that I recognize, then I see others that I don't recognize, then I see more that I recognize like School Rumble and Ichigo 100%, and I'm trying to think of when in hell were those released here (they weren't) and then I see the whole shelf titled "Untranslated Manga". Ok, that makes sense now. But the prices, yow! $13 for a ¥390 book. For those keeping score, that's about three bucks and change for a direct currency conversion. If they charged $5 or even $6, that would be easier to handle, but $13? I'm gonna hit up Taiga or someplace like it someday for that instead, or wait for someone to release it here.

Looking over my referral logs for the Shrine, I noticed that my site's gotten a lot of hits from Canadiangunnutz.com, but I cannot figure out what, where, how, or why. It doesn't even look like they're leeching anything. In order to browse their forums, I would need to register and log in, and I would rather not bother with that at this point. So far, no damage done. If it turns out they are leeching, and when I figure out what, I'll be ready. Oh, how I'll be ready. (Proceed at your own risk.)

I mourn the loss of Hunter S. Thompson. More gonzo journalism is needed in this world.

The last volume of the Pita Ten manga needs to come out just a little earlier. Like... today.

And in case I don't show up in LJ-land between now and then, York Anime Club this Saturday.

I've seen the untranslated manga too, and nearly fell over when I saw the price. It's nice that they're willing to sell that stuff, but they could at least make them affordable. I wonder if they're selling at all? I'd like the Spiral set, but I can get it cheaper from Sasuga online....

See you on Saturday! ^_^

Inquery: which con in May did you plan on attending? Patty and I are trying to figure out dates for anime club meetings through June/july and it wasn't discussed at the last meeting. Please advise.

Ah yes. In May, I'm planning on going to Animazement, which traditionally takes place on Memorial Day weekend. Last year we bumped the club meeting a week earlier because of that.

Back in the day when the video ran off a VCR or DVD player, it wasn't as big a deal for me to skip out a meeting here and there, but now that we run almost entirely off my laptop (that a few select people should learn how it works in the event I go off and for some reason it craps out it will be able to get going again) that kinda changes a lot.

That jiggling butt is both mesmerizing and horrifying at the same time. Good job =3

Btw...I got the infamous Katsu-flu. Damn germy otaku and their germy ridden selves...

The Katsu-flu sucks. I paid my dues on that five years ago, when it really kicked my ass.

And just in case one of them wasn't enough... (http://www.cardboard-shrine.com/mf.html)
